FixItCity.com ("FixItCity", "we") is a free home repair information site. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
Information you send us. When you use the match request, pro listing or contact forms, we receive what you type: for example your name, email, phone number, ZIP code and a description of the job. Form submissions are delivered to our inbox through a form-processing service (FormSubmit). If that service isn't available, your own email app opens with the message filled in, and nothing is sent until you press send.
Tools and checklists. Our quiz, calculator, maintenance calendar, emergency card and checklists run in your browser. Anything you enter or tick is stored only on your device, using your browser's local storage, so it's there when you come back. It is not sent to us. You can erase it with the Clear or Reset buttons or by clearing your browser data.
Technical data. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. We don't use advertising cookies or sell personal information.
How we use it
- To respond to your message or match request.
- With your consent on the match request form, to share your request with a professional or service partner who can help with your job.
- To keep the site secure and working.
We don't sell your contact information, and we don't use it for unrelated marketing.
Affiliate links and other sites
Some links go to retailers such as Amazon. If you follow them, those sites' own privacy policies apply, and they may use cookies to credit us for a purchase. See our affiliate disclosure.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete information you've sent us by emailing hello@fixitcity.com. FixItCity is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
